Beach Bunny, Vitamin A, Maaji… These are just a few of the designer swimwear brands that most of us can only lust after. But now that summer is almost in full swing, you can expect to see many designer swimwear sample sales.
For example, some great pieces from the celeb-loved brand Vitamin A Silver Collection are on sale right now at ideeli.com. Tops and bottoms that usually sell for $49.50+ are on sale at ideeli for $19 each.
Just before our Turks & Caicos trip, I purchased a Maaji bikini from HauteLook for $39 (plus shipping). The bikini was normally priced at $180!
Why designer swimwear? Living in Florida and having owned tons of swimsuits, I’ve tried lots of different stores and brands: Target, Forever 21, Old Navy, surf brands, Victoria’s Secret, Guess, etc., mostly just trying to find a good deal. I have been mostly happy with these purchases, but these mainstream brands are missing unique cuts and patterns. With designer swimwear, you are not only paying for the name but also for better design. Not to mention, you will be sure to stand out in the sea of Target and Victoria Secret swimsuits at the beach.
But here’s a word of caution: Most swimwear items sold through sample sale sites are not illegible for return. So if you are not happy with the purchase, you are stuck with it. Or maybe you can try to sell it on eBay or Smashion.
