We spent Mother’s Day at my parents’ house. It was a hot, sunny day in Florida. But when you combine that with a refreshing pool, bright blue sky, mojitos, homemade salsa, and family, it makes for a great day.
I was in charge of dessert, so I made these mini pineapple upside-down cakes (recipe). Very yummy!
Some acquisitions from Tax Refund Shopping Spree, Part I (more on that later) – Hat: Forever 21. Swimsuit: Wildflower Bikini, Forever 21. Sunglasses: Tom Ford.
And in other Mother’s Day–type news, a couple of weeks ago, Urban Outfitters announced their “Original Icon” contest. To enter, all you had to do was submit a vintage photo of your mom in an awesome dress. This picture of my mom in a dress she sewed herself immediately popped into my mind. So I submitted the picture, and what do you know–she didn’t win the contest, but she made it into the e-mail Urban Outfitters sent out yesterday announcing the winner, and she was featured on their favorite submissions page! (third pic in the top row.) Yay mom!
